I never thought I was going to be one of those people who would use gaming chairs. I used to think they are not that different. I remember I would always say how you pay for the design and colors when you purchase a gaming chair.
But having done a lot of reviews about them, my initial and inexperienced thinking has slowly but surely been corrected. Today, I am going to bring you yet another review.
Here’s my own Devoko Ergonomic gaming chair review - is it the best video gaming seat at this price point? Is this relatively new brand competitive in the swath of gaming chairs in the market.
I didn’t hear the delivery people knock on my door, so the package was left lying outside my house for who knows how long.
Watch this video unboxing video, to see how the package looks like:
It was a good thing my friend came over that day, because it would have stayed there for much longer if it hadn’t been for her - I was not planning on going out that day. The package wasn’t that heavy or huge and only weighed around 45.5 pounds.
It said on the box not to cut it because it contains leather materials. I wondered why they had to put it there.
Does this mean the seats and other hardware made of leather are not individually wrapped?
I opened the package with my keys and found that the parts were individually boxed. It wasn’t wrapped with plastic, they were literally boxed.
I appreciate that they went the extra mile and even warned the buyers not to use anything sharp to open the box. This should be common sense, really, but we get excited.
So, let’s talk about the dimensions of the Devoko gaming chair. The seat area measures 19.8 inches in length and 20.5 inches in width.
The backrest measures at 19.8 inches in length and 30.5 inches in height. Its overall dimension is 19.8 inches in length, 20.5 inches in width, and 50.5 inches in height.
The Devoko seat is designed to look like a racing style chair, is made of premium leather, and has a high curved back rest. As far as I know, this particular model only comes in the color combination of black and red.
The seat is advertised to have four modes: working mode, reading mode, relaxing mode, and lying mode, which by the way, sound super pretentious - they're just different reclining angles yo!
It is pretty obvious that the chair can be reclined in accordance to your activity or preference, but more to that feature is the lock tilt function.
This means that you can lock your desired recline angle in position. You would think this is a common feature in gaming chairs, but even to my own surprise, it is not.
You can adjust the seat up to 180 degrees. I am so happy to share with you that writing this Devoko gaming chair review was as comfortable as it could get because I could nap on it!
In conjunction the reclining feature, it comes with an ergonomic headrest and a detachable head pillow.
It also has an adjustable and removable lumbar cushion. There is also no need to worry about eye strains because the seat’s height can be adjusted through a pneumatic gas spring.
Its five-star base gives you a 360-degree swivel rotation so you won’t have any problem looking at any direction as you may please. Plus, it comes with top quality wheels that are deemed “mute” because they do not make any noise.
Combined with the materials and the quality of its build, the seat can carry a maximum weight of 300 pounds. Let’s see how it holds up as we go through the Devoko seat review
I want to start by saying that this chair looks phenomenal. I love the color combination of red and black.
I think it says “I like gaming, but I know how to work, too.” This chair can easily blend in an office space or give the right amount of color in your living space.
It would surely catch a visitor’s attention. This chair looks so inviting. I do hope, though, that it comes in more colors because I know people would love to have more choices.
I mean, I could easily imagine this in black and white.
I like gaming, but I know how to work, too.
Although, I appreciate this combination because it is low-maintenance. If ever you stain it, it shouldn’t be that obvious.
Enough about the looks, because we cannot judge a chair by its color. Let’s talk about the comfort.
As I’ve said earlier, this chair looks so inviting. The moment you accept that invite, you will never want to get out of it - literally. I love how this chair feels when I sit on it.
The cushioning is just right. It is not too soft that you feel like you are sinking in it. It is just firm enough to let you know that “Hey, we are here to win or work. You can’t slack off!”
I love how I can fully rest my back on it. As usual, you know how honest I am when it comes to reviewing products, so I am going to say that I do not appreciate having the head pillow and lumbar pillow on the chair all the time.
Most of the time, I just want to be able to lay my back fully onto the backrest without any lump, if you know what I mean. It’s a good thing that both pillow supports are detachable. I do appreciate the head pillow when I nap, though.
The ergonomics for the back on this chair is remarkable, but I hope they also did something with the armrests. I would have liked it better if the armrests can be adjusted, even if it were only up and down. I feel sort of restrained whenever these armrests “surround” me.
The chair comes with a standard 30-day replacement or refund policy. This arrangement is for clients who are not satisfied or who have encountered quality problems.
For damaged or defective parts, you can get free replacement for them in a span of 6 months.
Now that this Devoko chair review is coming to a close, all I can say is for its price, you get a pretty sweet deal.
The comfort, the degree in which you can recline your chair, the weight capacity, plus all the pillow support it comes with, this chair is worth your money.
I love how it was able to carry me, a 5’6”, 200-plus pounder with little to no effort at all. If you are looking for a starter gaming chair, this is for you.
